This is Scoil Mhuire’s third year participating in the Amber Flag intiative.
The Pieta Amber Flag initiative enables schools and youth groups across the country to raise awareness of the stigmas which exist in their environments, and the stressors on the mental and emotional wellbeing of those within them.
Each year the children have to carry out an audit on what has already been done to promote positive mental health in the school. They choose three new goals and work towards them throughout the year.
The children recently had wonderful talk about mental health and well-being from Cork Mental Health Association. Getting a guest speaker into our classroom was one of our goals for 2022/2023.
