Active School week

Active Week

Each year the Active Committee helps to organise Active Week in school in the hope to encourage all students to get moving and try a variety of physical activities. As part of the Active Schools Flag initiative, we organise events such as sports days, dance sessions, obstacle courses, and non-competitive games to ensure every child can participate. We also invite a number of outside coaches in to teach children new games like golf, tennis and yoga. The focus is on enjoyment, inclusion, and building positive attitudes towards physical activity, helping students develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

Each year, we organise a whole-school tug of war competition as it is a fantastic way to bring energy, teamwork, and fun to  Active Week. Classes can compete against each other in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, with opportunities for all students to take part. Inviting parents to attend helps to strengthen the school community and promotes the importance of physical activity beyond the classroom. This event encourages cooperation, school spirit, and enjoyment for everyone involved. Students, staff and parents alike look forward to this event each year!
